Chicago Bulls: Potential free agent adds from NBA Playoffs
By Ryan Heckman
Point Guard Terry Rozier — Restricted
This year, Terry Rozier wasn’t nearly as lauded for his efforts in the playoffs as he was last year. Of course, that is due to the fact that Kyrie Irving came back into the picture as the Celtics’ starting point guard. In 2018, Boston made an improbable playoff run without the likes of Irving or Gordon Hayward, and Rozier was an enormous difference-maker.
The 2019 playoffs were a bit different, and it appears as though Rozier is on his way out of Boston. He’s a restricted free agent, thus Boston has the ability to match any offer he receives. But, judging by his comments after the Celtics were bounced from the 2019 postseason, the two sides could be heading their separate ways.
Rozier was asked about free agency and had this to say, per Jay King of The Athletic:
"“I’m looking forward to a family, someone that greets me like a family and is gonna invest in me all the way. Other than that I’m gonna go from there.”"
He was also asked about the Celtics and their ability to match any offer, with which he responded, “no comment.”
Rozier is an intriguing, hard-nosed player whom could fit in well with the Bulls and what Boylen likes in his players. He proved he had the ability to carry a heavy responsibility a year ago, and would help fix the point guard problem in Chicago.
