Shooting Guard Rodney Hood — Unrestricted
If you’ve watched the Portland Trail Blazers this season, especially during the playoffs, you have probably thought to yourself on multiple occasions, “These guys have some of the best depth in basketball.”

The Blazers have done a great job adding talent around their core, and Rodney Hood is a huge part of that. At the shooting guard position, the Bulls have Zach LaVine who is more of an offensive threat than anything else. Hood would give the Bulls a different dynamic off the bench, providing a tough-nosed defender with a three ball.
Hood has made some clutch plays on the defensive end over the course of these NBA playoffs. Looking at box scores may not always give you the full story on Hood, and those are the type of players Boylen has to be looking for in order to fill out his roster over the summer.
In the Blazers’ recent 4OT win over the Denver Nuggets, Hood scored an impressive 19 points, going 75 percent from the floor. More importantly, though, he was able to play strong defense and stay in the game with only three fouls over the course of the eight total periods in the game. He would be an immediate, integral part of the Bulls’ depth, should he sign in Chicago.
