The Chicago White Sox have gotten elite production for their shortstop Tim Anderson so far this season. Major League Baseball rewarded Anderson for his efforts by naming him the American League player of the month for March/April. That is a great accomplishment and it isn’t something that happens often.
Tim Anderson id the product of developing a young player and seeing him reach his true potential. He is one of the leaders of the White Sox now on both on and off the field. He is going to need to be one of the White Sox best players and this rebuild will really work out. He is proving to be worth the wait and along and along with Yoan Moncada proving that developing prospects is the way to go.
In the March/April stretch that saw him win the player of the month, his stats were off the charts. He had a .375 batting average, 6 home runs, 18 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases. All of these things have contributed to the White Sox being able to win a few games and maybe if they had some better pitching and played a little bit better defensively they would have won even more on the back of Anderson.
With the players that the White Sox have been bringing in via their prospect pool, there is a reason to believe that this is not the last time that one of these guys The White Sox are getting close to being out of their rebuild and ready to go after the playoffs and Tim Anderson being honored by the MLB is a step towards that. Now it is time to build on it and set the goals even higher.
