Bottom Tier

Cory Joseph — Unrestricted

Mostly a career backup, Cory Joseph would likely assume that kind of role in Chicago if they were to pursue him. Last year with the Indiana Pacers, he backed up Collison and gave them about four assists per game. He doesn’t shoot the ball overly well, but is a good enough defender and distributor to maintain a backup role.

Quinn Cook — Restricted

In limited time last season, Quinn Cook gave the Golden State Warriors nearly 47 percent shooting overall and 40.5 percent from beyond the arc. At the very least, Cook would be a solid addition to the bench. But, would the Warriors give him up?

Emmanuel Mudiay — Restricted

Playing for a couple of teams since his rookie year in 2015, Emmanuel Mudiay has struggled with health at times. Last year, though, he was able to put up a career-best 14.8 points per game on a career-high 44.6 percent shooting. Still young, if Mudiay was guaranteed healthy for a full season, the Bulls might find a gem.

Tyus Jones — Restricted

At one point, Tyus Jones was atop the basketball world as a National Champion with Duke. As a pro, he hasn’t quite become the same kind of star. But, he’s been good enough on occasion. The  Minnesota Timberwolves are kind of a mystery, for all the talent they’ve had, and I wonder if a different scene would do him some good.

Isaiah Thomas — Unrestricted

Out of all the guys I have labeled at the bottom tier, I might be most intrigued by Isaiah Thomas. A few years back, he was an electric scorer and fearless attacking the basket. Since coming back from injury, he hasn’t necessarily been the same. But, he’s still young enough to give him a shot.
