Chicago Bulls: Early look at free agent point guards

Top Tier
Like I said previously, there is a better shot at Michael Jordan making another comeback than the Bulls signing one of these guys — but there’s always a chance … think, Dumb and Dumber type of chance.

Kylie Irving — Player Option
The Boston Celtics may end up being the home of Kyrie Irving for years to come, but most people think he will test the free agency waters at this point in his career. Any contract with a built-in player option seems to work out that way with the bigger names, and I think Irving may want to see about the likelihood of teaming up elsewhere.
Kemba Walker — Unrestricted
This one is interesting. Kemba Walker is totally unrestricted and will end up making a ton of money this summer. Is it going to be with the only franchise he’s ever known, or will he finally move on? One of the most underrated point guards of all-time, Walker would be quite the “get” for the Bulls. But, he has to want more than simply being part of yet another rebuild.
D’Angelo Russell — Restricted
The Brooklyn Nets have the opportunity to match any offer which comes the way of D’Angelo Russell, and I’d be willing to bet he isn’t going anywhere. Russell is the sole reason this franchise is relevant again. The playoff run this past season wasn’t a flash in the pan. Russell has finally emerged as a budding superstar in the NBA, and the Nets would be foolish to let him go.
