Spencer Evans

Purdue

The Chicago Bears are bringing in Purdue Boilermakers kicker Spencer Evans to rookie camp to try and impress. This group of rookie kickers has some Big Ten flavor to it as they try to get this position in a good spot. He did attend Baylor for his first two seasons but he wasn’t a starter in either season. He went 0-for-1 in his one try and then transferred to Purdue to be their guy.

In year one as a Boilermaker, he went 16-for-17 on extra points which is good for 94.1 percent. From field goal range he was 8-for-11 which was good for 72.7 percent. He had many more opportunities in his second year and he did well with the chance. He was a 93.3 percent extra point kicker going 42-for-45. Then as a field goal kicker, he had a solid 78.3 percent going 18-for-23. He scored 126 total points for a Purdue team that normally doesn’t do to0 well in a loaded Big Ten conference.

Evans is going to come into rookie camp and give it what he has and hopefully, he can make it out of the camp alive and get a chance to attend training camp. The Bears won’t be upset if multiple guys do well and make it a difficult decision for them.
