Casey Bednarski

Minnesota State

The Chicago Bears are going to work out Minnesota State Mavericks kicker Casey Bednarski at their rookie camp. This is yet another guy who played for a college in cold weather, so that won’t be an issue for him, but he will need to prove himself to have a chance. He stands 6-foot-1, 215 pounds, so he’s a big boy compared to the first two.

He is from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin so he is a bit of a local boy as well. This is his opportunity to make a name for himself among the Midwest. He was the starter for two seasons for Minnesota State. In year one he went  25-for-27 and a phenomenal 92.59 percent as a field goal kicker. He also had an incredible long of 63 yards.

The next year didn’t go so well for Bednarski. He was 15/23 which gave him a not so good 65.22 percent. That is not good enough at any level of football. That lowered his career average to 80 percent. He did, however, have two of those blocked. Either way, he is going to need to mimic the first year in order to have a chance at making it out of the rookie camp to the Bear’s training camp.
