The Chicago Bears are the laughing stock of the kicking game after last season’s ending. Now they look to fix that as they head into 2019.

The Chicago Bears were defeated on Wild Card Weekend by the Philadelphia Eagles. They played a strong game and saw their young quarterback put together a game-winning drive just so kicker Cody Parkey could blow the game-winning kick.

That missed kick could have changed the entire shift of the NFL playoffs. It is believable to think that the Bears could have given the New Orleans Saints or the Los Angeles Rams a run for their money, should they have won that game.

The writing was on the wall during the regular season that the kicking was an issue and Parkey shouldn’t be trusted. It was a commonly made joke that the Bears’ demise would come at the hands of the kicker, and it ultimately did. It came true, and not responding to the clear issue was the cause of the Bears 2018-19 season coming to an end.

So far in this offseason, it looks like the Bears have learned their lesson and are doing the right things to make sure that doesn’t happen again. This team is far too good to let a kicking problem hold them back. The defense is the best in the NFL and the offense is getting much better.

The process to fix the position with the obvious. They let Parkey go and moved on from him. There are the Robbie Gould rumors that have been all over, but the Bears aren’t waiting around for that. They are trying out as many guys as they can, including these five rookies that they will bring to Rookie Mini Camp.
