The Chicago Bears had a pretty good draft considering they didn’t have a pick in the first or second round. Which pro can we compare each pick to?

The Chicago Bears went into the draft knowing that unless they made a big trade they wouldn’t be picking until the third round. Then they traded up to select higher in the third round. They moved up 14 spots in the third round, then their draft was off and running.

They had a really nice draft in most people’s opinions. In their five draft selections they only selected three positions and only two of them were on defense. Those two defensive players are both cornerbacks. Of the three offensive players, they took two running backs and a wide receiver.

The Bears offense was good in 2018 but it could be better. How do you improve the best defense in the NFL? You try to improve the offense while the window is open for the defense. If some of these guys can help the offense score more points then this could be a really dangerous football team.

The running back position has been an area of concern for the Bears over the last year or so because it became apparent quickly that Jordan Howard was out and Tarik Cohen needed a new guy to split carries with. That seems to have been addressed in this draft.

The defense was the best in the league in 2018 so they worried more about the offense in this draft. Their first pick was a running back and their second was a wide receiver. This offense will be better in 2019 and hopefully, the defense can match what it did a year ago. If both sides click, this could be a scary team.

Each player drafted can be compared to someone who is currently in the NFL, so here is a player comparison for every player the Bears selected:
