Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson is off to an unbelievable start to the season. Here is why Anderson is the White Sox biggest star.

After a 2018 season filled with growing pains, streakiness, and overall disappointment, Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson has emerged as a legitimate star player this season.

While the White Sox might be just 10-14, seemingly at least another year away from contention, Anderson’s play has been the biggest factor in the White Sox improvement in play from a season ago.

We’ll get to Anderson’s individual statistics in a bit, but the shortstop leads the White Sox in batting average, home runs, and stolen bases.

Anderson has also emerged as a real leader in the White Sox clubhouse, another thing that we’ll dive a little deeper into later on. All things considered, the full-fledged improvement by Anderson from last season’s disaster has been eye-opening and relieving.

For a team in the White Sox that have lacked a star player in the past five-or-so years, most of which during the rebuild, Anderson truly looks the part of a superstar, albeit early on in the season.

Everything that happens in April should be taken with a grain of salt, but Anderson looks like a completely different player than in season’s past, something that we can certainly expect to carry over in the following months.

10-14 is not that bad of a start, especially for the White Sox, whose 2018 season seemed to fizzle out fairly quickly after a horrendous start to the season. This season has been a whole lot different, even though the record does not reflect it completely.

A solid chunk of this improvement as a team can be attributed to Anderson, whose play has uplifted the entire ballclub as a whole. Here is why Anderson is the biggest star that the White Sox have had in quite a long time.
