Chicago Bears: Best available players on Day 3
Another possibility at outside linebacker for the Bears is D’Andre Walker. Walker is similar to Christian Miller in the sense he is not going to come in and prove he deserves to start right away. Instead, he will be a rotational guy who has to develop physically and technically first.
Just like Miller, Walker will need to be coached up. He has some technical issues with his stance and hands that cause him to struggle against blockers. However, learning within this Bears defense is likely all that Walker needs. He could be able to learn and possibly replace Leonard Floyd if he is not re-signed.
Walker has shown growth while at Georgia. In 2017, Walker had 39 combined tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. He improved that in 2018 by racking up 45 combined tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
Walker is the better run-defender between himself and Christian Miller. He is not as likely to succeed as a top pass rusher though. If we could combine their skill sets, we are probably talking a Round 1 or Round 2 draft pick. Walker has shown enough promise though to take a risk on him this late in the NFL Draft. He would make an ideal depth piece for the Bears.
