Here is the guy I would absolutely love to see in a Bears uniform. I have him ranked higher than others, but Hooker has good size and is a ball hawk. His instincts and vision are superb. He is not the fastest guy out there, but he makes up for it with his football IQ.

Hooker comes with risks. However, I think Chuck Pagano would be able to use him nicely. I can see him even filling in for Buster Skrine during certain passing situations. Pagano can also scheme some plays where Hooker can get the experience needed to take over for HaHa Clinton-Dix after this season. He is versatile enough to play either safety or nickel corner.

Last year, Amani Hooker came away with four interceptions and seven pass deflections. He also had a sack and 3.5 tackles for loss. Pagano is not afraid to blits with his defensive backs and Hooker loves to make big tackles. Sounds like a match to me.

In 2017, Hooker played in only eight games. He finished the season with two interceptions, and one he ran back for a touchdown. He also had two pass deflections and 41 solo tackles. He played so well between 2017 and the start of 2018, that the Iowa coaches made a hybrid position for Hooker. This led to him earning the Big 10 Defensive Back of the Year Award.

With the right coaching and scheme, Hooker could become a solid player in the NFL.
