Chicago Bears: Bold predictions for the 2019 NFL Draft

5. The Bears will add someone to the front seven
The Bears front seven is perhaps the most loaded group on the roster right now. However, even then, the Bears should make an attempt to make an already deep group even deeper. Adding a quality situational player could be the biggest difference between critical in-game situations.
Despite the top of the position being led by Akiem Hicks, Khalil Mack, and Leonard Floyd, the Bears can still add another edge rusher, defensive end, or even linebacker. However, the main position the team should add to is edge rusher.
The Bears will have their options open at edge rusher. While a majority of people think that many edge rushers will be gone within the first two rounds, this year’s draft is deep at edge rusher to the point where some players will get overlooked. In other words, the Bears have a chance to find a hidden gem.
Who the Bears want to target is the question, but it seems like the team could go after Oshane Ximines (Old Dominion) or Jalen Jelks (Oregon). They may not be the hottest names out there, however, both have the potential to develop into situational players or long-term starters down the road.
With Aaron Lynch on another one-year deal, the Bears would be wise to bring in another edge rusher. Drafting someone like Jelks or Ximines ensures that edge rusher won’t be a problem for at least the next three seasons.
