22. Conclusion

Although the Bears don’t have many picks, the 2019 NFL Draft is an opportunity to improve the team. In the NFL, many teams are made on day three where teams are able to find cheap, underrated talent that can make major contributions on the field.

Given Ryan Pace’s track record of being able to find hidden gems on day three and via the undrafted free agent pool, the Bears have a chance to find long-term depth options this year. The team has a core that consists of guys like Mitchell Trubisky and Khalil Mack, but now it’s time to add to a foundation with very few cracks in it.

The Bears have done their work on as many prospects as they can and ultimately, will do what’s best for the team. For example, in 2018, while defensive tackle wasn’t necessarily a need for the Bears due to the presence of Eddie Goldman, the team added Bilal Nichols and saw the results very quickly.

The 2019 draft is going to be interesting as the Bears will need to do more with less, taking full advantage of each pick and setting the team up for long-term success once again. If the team can add one more playmaker on offense, then it will automatically take the next step and become a Super Bowl contender in the NFC.
