Chicago Bears 2019 NFL Draft: Potential undrafted gems
By Ryan Heckman
Kicker Cole Tracy, LSU
There may not be a more polarizing position within the Chicago Bears organization right now than at kicker. Sure, plenty of folks are still split on Mitchell Trubisky — which is a heated debate I’d love to have with the haters at a later date — but, after the way last season ended with Cody Parkey‘s “double-doink,” the Bears have had a monstrous problem.

Most folks will tell you not to waste a draft pick on a kicker, but if there was ever a year for the Bears to do so, this is the year. Now, with that said, I don’t believe Pace will do so. I think the undrafted free agent pool will house some strong talent. Whether it’s Matt Gay or this guy, Cole Tracy, or even a few others, the Bears should have some options when it’s all said and done.
Now, as for Tracy, there was not a better kicker in all of college football last year — maybe Gay, but Tracy has been known as the top dog.
Last season, Tracy nailed every one of his extra points (42 to be exact) and connected on 29 of 33 field goal attempts. His long came in at 54 yards, and he looks to be the next great collegiate kicker to translate his game to the pros.
