2. Dylan Cozens

The Chicago Blackhawks could be looking to add a third Dylan to the team to join Dylan Sikura and of course Strome. Dylan Cozens might be the safest pick in the draft besides Hughes and Kakko. Cozens is going to play in the NHL and likely be very good. The Canadian center had a really nice year in the WHL. In 68 games played he had 34 goals and 50 assists for 84 points.

That is a monster year for the WHL and that shows he should be able to be an impactful player once he makes the jump. If the Blackhawks were to select him they would likely have him begin his NHL career as the third line center behind Toews and Strome. That could develop into an intriguing group of centers.

He would also probably be given a pretty good winger to play with that could help make his transition easier. Skill plays well with other skill so this could be a nice landing spot for the young center. There is even potential for him to be a high-end second line center behind Strome once Toews is past his prime. The hope in drafting a player third overall is that you get a guy who plays for you for a decade and a half or more. Cozens might be that type of guy for Chicago.

A good comparison for him would be Chris Kreider of the New York Rangers. Kreider has been a key cog on many playoff Rangers teams. He is the type of guy who can drive the net and be a good defensive forward as well. If Cozens pans out similar to Kreider that could be a guy who plays on a power play with a playmaker like Kane and thrives.
