Edge Rusher Ezekiel Ansah

There was once a time where Bears fans longed for the services of Ezekiel Ansah. In 2017, Ansah was coming off his second career double-digit sack season (12.0) and Chicago had one clear need: Pass rusher.

Ansah looked like the ideal guy to fill the Bears’ need, however the Lions decided to use the franchise tag on him, and that idea went by the wayside. Last season, Ansah played in just seven games while producing 4.0 sacks on the season. Shoulder injuries kept him sidelined for over half the year.

Now, a year after getting paid a huge chunk of money, Ansah remains unsigned. Of course, health is the big question with him after he endured a rough 2018 campaign. But, if the Bears want to completely solidify the outside linebacker position, and Ansah proves to be healthy, he’d be a fantastic candidate for a 1-year contract.

Ansah is still just 29 years old and a former no. 5 overall pick back in 2013. The fact he’s been unemployed this long is a bit odd, but considering that fact, Pace could bring him in fairly cheap. I would imagine the Bears could get Ansah for about $2.5-$4 million at this point.
