The Chicago Bears are looking for a running back, and this under the radar player should be getting more attention.

As of April 9th, the Chicago Bears have met with 15 running backs in one form or another — be it a private workout, at the Senior Bowl, NFL Combine, or another venue. In short, you can expect Ryan Pace and team to select one in the upcoming NFL Draft.

This was the least kept secret even before the trade of Jordan Howard. Now, with Howard on the Philadelphia Eagles, the need to add a third back to the team of Mike Davis and Tarik Cohen becomes imperative.

The only question that remains is where will the Bears make their move? To recap, at the moment they only have five total picks and, absent a trade, won’t make their first selection until the third round. Most assume the team will use their first pick on a running back, but there is no predicting what Pace will do — as he always seems to have one or two tricks up his sleeve.

There is a school of thought out there that if the word is getting out that the Bears are showing interest in a particular running back, you can almost count on it being a smoke-screen to keep their true intentions private.

In that regard, there is a running back who was incredibly productive in college, possesses all of the traits Matt Nagy is looking for but is not getting the attention he deserves. He is even noticeably absent from the list of players the Bears have met with (linked above). In other words, he has all the makings to be the wild card running back to be drafted this year. His name is Jalin Moore out of Appalachian State University, and we sat down with him recently to discuss his unique connection with the Bears.
