The Chicago White Sox returned home to Chicago for the first time this season, and the Seattle Mariners looked to spoil all the fun.

The Chicago White Sox made their return to Guaranteed Rate Field for the first time in 2019. Everybody loves the home opener, all of the hope and possibilities are there and they are real. The boys are back and just as expected, there were ups and downs.

These 2019 White Sox are very unpredictable and every single game promises to be something different. They are still trying to figure out their identity as they move along. So far, it is all as expected. They came out of this series winning their first game and then lost the following two. They are now 3-5 which honestly doesn’t tell the whole story. If a few things were slightly different they could be 5-3 or 1-7. That is probably going to be the theme of the season.

The team is definitely looking to get rolling now that the opening day feeling is going away. They need their new guys to step up and keep rolling, they need their pitching to be as good as it can be, and they need to bring back a winning culture back to the south side of Chicago once again.

The Seattle Mariners have gotten off to a great start, so they came into Chicago with some confidence and it showed at times in the series. They are nowhere near perfect but they showed everyone why they are hot to begin the year. The White Sox are going to go through hot teams like that this season so it is good to get the experience. There were many positives and negatives to look at it as we head into another home series.
