Chicago Bears Mock Draft: Round 3 best case scenario
By Ryan Heckman
Running back Darrell Henderson, Memphis
Finally, we get to the position everyone wants to highlight leading up to the draft. While there are no obvious elite running backs in this year’s class, it’s a deep one with many backs I’d be happy with as a Bears fan. One of those backs whom the Bears could draw in the third round happens to be a former teammate of Anthony Miller, Darrell Henderson out of Memphis.

We have talked a lot about Henderson here at DWC, and certainly like what he brings to the table. He isn’t a big back by any means. In fact, he’s smaller at 5-foot-9. But, although he lacks a little size, Henderson plays big.
Over his last two seasons with the Tigers, Henderson has rushed for over 3,000 yards and 31 touchdowns. Within that span, he carried the ball 344 times and averaged 8.9 yards per tote. He has had a reputation for breaking the big play over his collegiate career, and boy have they been fun to watch.
One of the other things he brings to the table is his ability to catch the football. Henderson caught 63 passes over his three years at Memphis and averaged 12.0 yards per reception while scoring eight times through the air.
There is nothing negative I could say about snagging Henderson in the third. The only thing I could think of that would be considered remotely negative is that I’d slightly rather the Bears end up with this next guy.
