EDGE D’Andre Walker, Georgia

If the Bears see D’Andre Walker available at no. 87, he’s going to be extremely hard to pass up. Once again, this is one of the absolute best-case scenarios.

Walker only has one year of starting experience with the Georgia Bulldogs, but has seen plenty of action over his four-year college career. In 2018, he did quite a bit of everything as he finished with 45 tackles, 11.0 for loss and 7.5 sacks. Walker also forced four fumbles, broke up three passes and recovered one fumble.

Although he is a hair undersized at 6-foot-2, Walker has all the tools to become a strong pass rusher in the NFL. He’s especially good right off the line, where he remains low and uses his strong frame to whip past offensive linemen.

Walker plays the game fast. One of the phrases you’ll see reading up on him, from multiple outlets, is “quick-twitch athlete.” His initial burst is lightning fast, but he also never stops moving towards the quarterback. In run support, it’s the same thing. He makes his way to the football, at all cost.

This kid would fit right into the Bears defense and could be a fantastic part of the rotation for years. He certainly qualifies as “best player available” at no. 87. It would be Pace’s lucky day to see him fall.
