Chicago Bears Draft: Players worth trading up for
By Ryan Heckman
Edge Rusher Chase Winovich, Michigan
Speaking of guys who play the game with a nasty edge (no pun intended), Chase Winovich would also fit right in. The Michigan product is widely graded as a second-round edge rusher and could even sneak into the first round according to some outlets.

The best thing I can say about Winovich is something easily seen on tape. He is always in the back field — always.
In 2018, Winovich compiled an impressive 17 tackles for loss, including five sacks. The year prior, he topped those numbers at 18 and eight, respectively. The past two seasons have been highly productive for Winovich, thus why he enters the draft as one of the better pass rushing options.
Of course, the Bears brought back Aaron Lynch for this season as a third pass rusher. But, I still believe Winovich is good enough to come in and contribute — not just this season, but as the future third edge rusher among the group in Chicago.
Although it’s not necessarily as major of a need now, if the Bears could move into the second half of the second round to get a guy like Winovich, they have to make that move.
