8. Trayveon Williams, Texas A&M

A three-year starter at Texas A&M, Trayveon Williams looks like he is a strong candidate to be drafted by the Bears. Both sides have already met twice this offseason and it’s more than likely that Williams will be on the board in the fourth or fifth rounds when the Bears pick.

At the next level, Trayveon Williams will classify as being a rotational running back. To start, it’s likely that he begins his career as a running back who receives a majority of his carries on third-down. However, if he can improve his vision, Williams has a chance to see an increased workload as his career wears on.

Two of Williams best attributes are his pass protection and his receiving ability. In pass protection, Williams is willing to get physical and will do anything to challenge defenders. Then there’s Williams ability to catch the football. In three years at Texas A&M, Williams caught 66 receptions, averaging 8.5 yards per reception. His ability to win as a receiver should translate well into the NFL considering he’s elusive as well.

Overall, Williams is the type of player that may not make tons of big plays, however, he will make plays when needed. At this point, he seems as if he has a fifth-round grade on him, which means the Bears won’t have to trade up to get him unless they feel like another team is going to draft him.
