Miles Sanders, Penn State

If you have been following the 2019 NFL Draft and all of its content leading up to it, you’ve probably noticed the ascent of Penn State running back Miles Sanders. This year’s running back class is incredibly deep, and the Bears could end up finding a very good back even as late as the fifth round.

To get a guy like Sanders, though, they will have to hope he somehow falls to the third round. It’s either that, or Ryan Pace finds a way to trade up into the second and get his guy, assuming Sanders is just that.

Having to follow in the footsteps of a guy by the name of Saquon Barkley wasn’t going to be an easy task, but Sanders answered the call in a big way. He ran it 220 times for 1,274 yards and nine touchdowns on the year. Sanders also caught 24 balls in 2018 for 139 yards.

Sanders is a fairly explosive player with excellent footwork. One of the most lethal parts of his game is his ability to cut on a dime. The jump cut involved in his arsenal is quite the thing of beauty. In three years at Penn State, he doesn’t come bearing a lot of mileage either, combining for 56 attempts in his first two years.
