Chicago Bears: Three reasons Jordan Howard trade was a win
3. Clear Vision of the Future Plans
When Ryan Pace was hired to be the general manager of the Chicago Bears he had a vision. There were some mistakes made early on but some of those mistakes have been learned from. He seems to be on a bit of a hot streak and hiring coach Matt Nagy has obviously been one of the best moves. Together they have developed a plan and they are sticking to it.
They traded Jordan Howard to the Philadelphia Eagles for a sixth-round pick that might become a fifth. A lot of people don’t believe that is enough for a player of Howard’s caliber. But those people have learned a few reasons here on why this trade will turn out to be a win. No reason is more important than the fact that the Howard sweepstakes are now over and they can look forward.
The draft is less than a month away and the Bears don’t have any question marks left as far as current personnel. Adrian Amos and Bryce Callahan were the big free agents that everyone talked about and they were both signed by new teams and replaced by the Bears. Now Howard was finally traded and the competition to be his full-time replacement is on. Now the guys left are the guys who will be there.
They have some guys on their roster to fight for that job but there is also the draft. Most people believe that they are a great enough team meaning that they will just take the best available player. There is also a good chance that they take a running back to replace Howard and who fits the system better. There are plenty of options in this year’s draft.
Everyone has different guys that they want the Bears to select in this upcoming draft but if they feel the need to grab another running back they will. There are some great options in this years draft class at the position. With all of the guys who were never staying here long term gone, they can now look forward with the guys who will be here for the glory days.
