Da Windy City Staff Predictions for the 2019 MLB Season

Last year, the Los Angeles Dodgers won their second consecutive National League title before ultimately losing their second consecutive World Series. The Boston Red Sox took the AL title for the first time since 2013. Let’s break down the team’s picks for the World Series outcomes in 2019.

The voting for World Series was quite interesting.

Although the league champions were quite spread out with seven different teams receiving more than one vote, the World Series champion voting was not quite as even.

While the Dodgers, Braves, Cubs, Brewers, Astros, Yankees and Red Sox all received at least two votes each for a league championship, the Yankees dominated the World Series champion voting. Only the Red Sox earned multiple votes with two nods to win it all.

The other teams (Dodgers, Cubs, Brewers and Astros) all received one vote each.

Though we won’t know the outcome of our predictions until about eight months from now, we’re certainly not wishing away the season to find out. There’s just something comforting about baseball season, and it’s finally upon us.
