Tennessee Volunteers: Grant Williams

The Tennessee Volunteers have one of the best players in the country in junior forward Grant Williams, and he just so happens to be one of the best fits in the second round of the draft for the Bulls.

Williams, the 2018 SEC Player of the Year, is a polished scorer, defender, and has NBA-level leadership qualities.

On the season, Williams is averaging 19 points and eight rebounds per game. Williams has a knack for stepping up in big games, leading the Vols in each of their first two tournament games, as well as a trip to the SEC Tournament Championship game.

If there’s one area that the Bulls could really use improvement in for next season’s roster, it is forward depth off the bench. While Williams has been a starter for his entire college career, his maturity makes him a safe bet to adjust accordingly to the bench, while his polished play and impressive stats make him a solid sleeper in the second round.

As with Cassius Winston, there is a very good chance that Williams stays in school for his final season. However, if Williams surprisingly declares for the draft, he should immediately be at the top of the Bulls big board for the second round. Look for the Bulls to take a chance on a high-upside, proven forward/center in the second round, which just so happens to be a bill that fits Williams perfectly.

Finally, for a young Bulls team, Williams’ maturity would mesh very well amidst the inevitable growing pains that the Bulls will experience. Coupled with his potential, Williams would be a great fit on the Bulls roster.
