Gonzaga Bulldogs: Rui Hachimura

Even though Gonzaga isn’t exactly known for their high-ranking NBA draft prospects, the Zags have one prospect that could be of high appeal to the Bulls.

Rui Hachimura, a junior forward, has shown major flashes of NBA star potential.

Hachimura, who is from Japan, possesses an NBA-ready body at the power forward position.

Although the Bulls are set for the future at the power forward position, Hachimura has experience playing the small forward position for Gonzaga, where he might fit better with the Bulls and as a pro.

The big man is averaging 20 points per game on the season and has hit the stage as one of the best players in the country.

Assuming that he’ll be going pro following the season, Hachimura should be at the very top of the Bulls big board if they are picking below five. Durability is a major issue for Hachimura, but his big numbers on a top-tier team should not at all be slighted, especially since he has played such a big role in leading Gonzaga this far.

Hachimura too has experience off the bench, which might be of serious appeal to the Bulls this draft, if they decide that they have their future starting five set. If so, and if the Bulls are picking below the five spot, I have a feeling that Gonzaga’s Rui Hachimura will be their top target, and for that reason, Bulls fans should be all over him this coming weekend.
