If you have followed our content for even a couple of weeks now, you’d have read the exclusive interview we had with offensive lineman Dalton Risner out of Kansas State. We were blown away with his intelligence and character, already knowing he was a stud on the football field.
Risner is one of those can’t-miss prospects in the draft. If he fell to the Bears in the third round, somehow, it would be nearly impossible to pass him up. He is comfortable and confident playing every position across the offensive line, which is very rare.
What makes him great is his ability to succeed in the fundamentals of the game. His size and athleticism will not jump off his tape, but the consistency he provides in simply getting his job done is impressive.
Risner’s best attributes are his hand strength and body positioning. He seems to always get his body positioned correctly in every blocking scenario. Whether it’s run or pass, play-action or RPO, Risner is in position to make his block — period. To have Risner added as depth would be best-case scenario for the offensive line coming away from the draft.
