If you play offensive line at the University of Wisconsin, chances are you’re going pro at some point. That’s just how it works if you’re a Badger. David Edwards is a guy who once played quarterback, then switched to tight end. Now, he’s headed to the NFL playing offensive line.

Edwards, as you would expect, has quicker feet than a lot of offensive tackles — which is one of the best traits to have playing tackle. He could get a bit stronger, overall, but coming off a season in which he played the majority of it nursing a shoulder injury, that can be worked on now that he’s getting healthy.

The great thing about Edwards is that he knows how to run block. He’s blocked for some talented running backs over the last three seasons, and the Badgers are a run-heavy team. He’s held his own and proven he can block well, especially in zone schemes.

Right now, Edwards has garnered a lot of different opinions. Some experts have him as high as a second or third rounder. Others, though, see him more as a fourth or fifth round pick. Truthfully, if he’s there past the third round, he’s worth the pick.
