Speaking of high-character players, that brings us to running back Trayveon Williams out of Texas A&M. There are a lot of prospects to like at the running back position this year, but Williams is one of the easiest guys to be drawn to. Our own Patrick Sheldon actually had a chance to interview Williams one-on-one a few weeks ago, and we all came away overly impressed.
While he is a bit undersized, Williams is patient and elusive while being stronger than you would guess. You don’t have to be an elite athlete within this system in Chicago, but being able to catch the football on top of seeing the field well as a runner is a must — and Williams does both of those.

Last season, Williams had a monster year as he ran for 1,760 yards on 271 carries while rushing for 18 scores. He also caught 27 passes for 278 yards and a touchdown. He was the focal point of the offense and handled every bit of it with ease — at least that’s what it looked like. There is no doubt he put in a ton of work to bulk up and become the go-to guy in 2018. He made his 2018 season look flawless and fluid.
I would be thrilled if Williams ended up in Chicago. His skillset is perfect and he’s an incredible person on and off the field. The Bears would likely have to snag him in the fourth round, if he was available.
