2. Running back still has question marks

This offseason, the running back position has been the center of much attention for the Bears. Jordan Howard has been involved in trade rumors and the team added Mike Davis. Additionally, the Bears have had visits with multiple running backs. In other words, looking at the current state of the running back position, there no telling what the Bears are going to do.

With just over a month to go until the NFL Draft, the Bears still have a chance to ship Jordan Howard out and gain a day three draft pick back in return. This is one route the team is likely continuing to explore as Howard’s inability to catch the football are the reason he may not be in a Bears jersey for the upcoming season.

Although Miles Sanders (Penn State) and Devin Singletary (Florida Atlantic University) are two names to watch, there are other running backs in this class like James Williams (Washington State) that could be someone the Bears decide to add.

If Howard is shipped out, then the Bears will need to ask themselves a question: Will Mike Davis and Tarik Cohen be enough to handle the load at running back all throughout next season or will the team need to add a third player who can help handle the load?

With the way things stand right now, the Bears would head into 2019 with Jordan Howard, Tarik Cohen, and Mike Davis as the teams running backs. This would likely lead to a running back by committee approach where each would split carries.
