Chicago Bulls: Must-watch players in 2019 NCAA Tournament
By Ryan Heckman
Forward Zion Williamson, Duke
Franchise-altering players do not come along too often. Every once and a while we think we know a college player will turn an NBA franchise around, but they come up short. With Zion Williamson, most are willing to bet that he’s going to be dominant as a pro. Right now, he is the clear-cut no. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, and not much could change that fact.
Williamson is an absolute force. At 6-foot-7 and 285 pounds, Williamson does things that no man his size should be able to do. He plays most naturally at power forward, but his height gives him the ability to play the three as well. Quite honestly, he’s a matchup nightmare anywhere from three to five because of his versatility.
Williamson does just about anything you’d like him to do at his position. His outside shot could use a little work, but it’s not inefficient by any means. His skillset allows him to get to the hoop when and how he wants to, while owning the paint on both ends of the floor. That’s where he’s lethal. We haven’t seen a prospect like this since the likes of LeBron James — that’s how special he can be.
The Bulls, of course, already have Lauri Markkanen at the four and Porter at the three. But, the details can be figured out later. If Chicago obtains the top pick in the draft, the selection will 100 percent be Williamson.
