Monday, home vs the Vancouver Canucks

One of the playoff rivals of the first half of the Blackhawks dynasty was the Vancouver Canucks. They really were one of the elite teams in the NHL for a long time, but as their core aged out, they were forced to rebuild a little bit. Their rebuild is actually coming along very nicely as they have some very nice pieces.

More from Da Windy City

They are led now by youngsters. Former names that Blackhawks fans might recognize like Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, or Roberto Luongo are all gone from Vancouver now. Now they are getting a high level of production from Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson.

This dynamic duo is the one that the team is going to have to look out for. They are very dangerous every night and that is why the Canucks aren’t as low in the standings as some may have predicted back in the preseason.

The Blackhawks will probably use Corey Crawford again in net when Vancouver comes to town as he is coming off of a special game in Montreal on Saturday Night. The 3-0 shutout was a very great sign for his chances of taking back the net full time and getting this team where they need to go. This is no joke of a game and it the team will look to keep the momentum going into the week.
