Eli Harold

As a Bears fan, maybe you are familiar with Eli Harold. After spending the first three years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, he played last season with the Detroit Lions. Although Harold never started a game, he appeared in 13 contests and came up with a career-high 4.0 sacks in 2018.

Because the 2019 NFL Combine was so recent, it might be fun to look at some of Harold’s measurements back in 2015. At 6-foot-3 and 243 pounds, Harold ran his 40-yard dash in a very respectable 4.60 seconds, while finishing his 3-cone drill at 7.07 seconds. As an edge rusher, that’s nothing to sneeze at.

Coming to a team like Chicago, Harold might take on more of a role like Isaiah Irving, but with his experience he could also be valuable in the rotation, should injury occur. Still just 25 years old, Harold has two seasons of starting experience back with the 49ers where he started a total of 24 games in 2016 and 2017.

As always, it is interesting to ponder an addition from within the division. Even though Harold only played one year in Detroit, any insight he has on the Lions is a plus.
