He wants to be in Chicago

Pace knew what he was doing a year ago when he hired Matt Nagy to be the head coach of this football team. Nagy was, and is, a special kind of leader. The culture he established within the locker room in 2018 was second to none around the league.

The beauty of a signing like Clinton-Dix, as you’ll see sometimes in the NFL, is the fact that he wanted to be in Chicago.

There were other offers on the table which would have paid Clinton-Dix more money. He didn’t care. He wanted to play in Chicago, under Nagy, and next to a college teammate and friend in Jackson.

That speaks volumes. What the Bears are building right now is not just a Super Bowl contender, but a high character organization. It’s an organization in which has started to draw players in. People want to be part of something great; something positive.

If you read anything about an initial conference call between the Bears’ first few signings, you’d see that this is indeed the case. Guys want to be in Chicago, period. They know what the Bears have is rare. It’s a brotherhood. It’s a family — and it’s a winning franchise.

Clinton-Dix wanted to get in on it, and Pace made it happen. This was a brilliant move by the Bears, no matter how you try and spin it.
