Chicago Bears: Free agents no one is talking about
By Ryan Heckman
As we get set for the 2019 edition of NFL free agency, the Chicago Bears might have to look at some guys no one is really talking about.
We are now just five days away from the start of free agency, and the Chicago Bears have been anything but out of headlines as of late. Fans have plenty to talk about, as starting running back Jordan Howard has been the subject of trade talks over the last week.
According to multiple reports, the Bears have been shopping Howard and there are several teams who have called on his services. Howard is just one of a few storylines heading into free agency, though.
One of the most popular debates amongst fans is whether the Bears will be able to bring back both safety Adrian Amos and slot corner Bryce Callahan. At the NFL Combine, Ryan Pace said it was their goal to bring both guys back to Chicago. But, money may make that easier said than done.
Then, there is the talk of how Chicago could extend backup quarterback Chase Daniel in order to clear more cap space. Not only that, but converting some of Khalil Mack‘s deal into a bonus and re-working his contract in order to clear a bit more space.
Why would they clear space if they weren’t in the market to make a big move? I don’t see a huge move coming, but let’s not put anything past Pace. He’s surprised us before.
While all of these topics have been hot amongst fans, there are several free agents from other teams which no one is talking much about. If the Bears end up making some cheaper signings this offseason, the following players are some who could intrigue. Let’s look at just a handful.
