A lot has been made about the future of Chicago Bears strong safety Adrian Amos. He is an unrestricted free agent as soon as the NFL calendar switches to its new year. He might not be brought back and the Bears will look to replace him and keep this defense rolling. It will likely be one of the best defenses in the league again, but they need to make sure they are firing on all cylinders and the defensive backs are very important.

They, of course, have Eddie Jackson, Prince Amukamara, and Kyle Fuller as a part of a very good secondary. With the defensive line and group of linebackers that they have, a good secondary could be very lethal once again. There is a reason they were the NFL’s leader in interceptions with 27 in 2018, and the next closest team (Miami Dolphins) had 21.

Fuller tied for the individual lead with seven, and Jackson was right behind him with 6. This combo of players is awesome and expect to continue the dominance in 2019.

With all of that in the bank, there is a reason to believe that if Amos leaves that they will have luck replacing him. Who wouldn’t want to play on this team right now? The Bears could look at Oakland Raiders safety Marcus Gilchrist. The 30-year-old might be able to come in and directly replace Amos on the defense..

In 2018, on a one-year deal, he contributed 58 total tackles, six passes deflected, and three interceptions.

That came on an Oakland Raiders team that went 4-12 and good for a last-place finish in the AFC West. These statistics could even come up if he sees a lot of favorable action as a result of the Bears defense generating so much pressure on quarterbacks. Obviously, there are many options to replace Amos this offseason, but this could be one of the sleeper picks to get the job done.
