Is there any team that has helped the Chicago Bears ascend to where they are right now more than the Oakland Raiders? Can they be of help again?

Are the Chicago Bears in position to go after free agents to help them right now? Of course they are. They went 12-4 and won the NFC North after being projected to come in last again. They were the no. 3 seed in the NFC postseason and were upset by the Philadelphia Eagles on Wild Card Weekend. They should have won the game in most people’s estimation, but, you know.

They will be in a position again to try to win their division and make a run at the Super Bowl. The Bears are one of the elite teams in the conference and many will project them to remain that way come preseason. Expectations guarantee you absolutely nothing, though — just ask the Minnesota Vikings.

The Bears will look to add via free agency this offseason and that is a great way to make sure they keep improving and live up to expectations. There is no better time to spend in free agency than while your quarterback is on his entry-level deal. The Bears’ best opportunity to win the whole thing is now. Sustained success is not guaranteed either — don’t ask the New England Patriots.

Can any team be trusted to help out the Bears more than the Oakland Raiders? This is not meant to be a joke. They gave the Bears an all-world defensive player in Khalil Mack for some draft picks. They also parted ways with a plethora of good players this season, so they are certainly in another rebuild and could be losing some pretty good players to the market this spring/summer.

The Raiders are probably going to look to shed some salary and build for the future, so some of these guys might be real possibilities for the elite teams in the NFL to look at. The Bears definitely see themselves as one of those teams.
