Chicago Bears: Teams that could trade for Jordan Howard
By Ryan Heckman
Philadelphia Eagles
It’s the team every Bears fan loves to hate, still to this day, and probably for years to come. The team that knocked the Bears out of the first round of the playoffs — the Philadelphia Eagles. Helping these guys seems a bit farfetched, but it’s not out of any realm of possibility.
The Eagles have been searching for an answer at the running back position, but haven’t seemed to get it right. They have ran with guys like Jay Ajayi (free agent this year), Wendell Smallwood, Josh Adams, Corey Clement and Darren Sproles over the last couple of seasons. Between injuries and inconsistency, the Eagles are simply starving for a dependable back.
Like many of these teams, the Eagles boast a pair of picks in one round. For this scenario, the Eagles would give up one of their second-rounders this year in exchange for Howard and a fifth-rounder from the Bears.
Chicago doesn’t necessarily go plus-one in their draft capital, but moving up into the second round is huge. It is a little sad thinking that Howard may leave Chicago, but we have to understand that this is a business when it is all said and done. The Bears will look to find a more explosive and versatile back in this year’s draft — that’s kind of the feeling from most fans and several analysts at this point.
Where will Howard land? That’s the big question. If anything happens, my guess is that it happens in the coming weeks and stems from a conversation had over this weekend’s NFL Combine.
