Chicago Bears: Teams that could trade for Jordan Howard
By Ryan Heckman
Houston Texans
Like the Bills, the Texans have their franchise quarterback in Deshaun Watson. Unlike the Bills, the Texans have quite the arsenal of weapons around their franchise quarterback. With arguably the best wide receiver in the game in DeAndre Hopkins, on top of a speedster like Will Fuller, Watson has some dangerous guys in the passing game.
Behind Watson is the veteran Lamar Miller, who actually had a solid year in 2018 and led him to a Pro Bowl nod. But, I like the idea of Miller being paired with Howard. Miller is a little bit quicker and can be used catching passes out of the back field, while Howard can get you those tough yards and wear a defense down later in the game.
In this scenario, the Texans use one of their two picks in the second round to nab Howard, while also returning a pick from the Bears. Ryan Pace gets to move into the second round of this year’s draft to likely secure a player who can come in and immediately make an impact.
This is one of the more unlikely scenarios, but if the Texans truly want to go all-in on making a run in 2019, Howard could be that player which puts them over the top. Houston already boasts one of the better defenses in the league, and adding a true pro like Howard to the offense would put them in position to compete with the elite of the AFC.
