The Chicago Blackhawks keep winning and out trade possibilities series continues! Another three trade proposals for the team to consider.

The Chicago Blackhawks have surged all the way up the Western Conference standings and find themselves just outside of a playoff spot in a tie for the final seed. They defeated the Detroit Red Wings at the Little Caesars Arena and are right there within a point of being securely in a spot and hope to not look back.

Are the Blackhawks going to be buyers this deadline? They might be smart to look in that direction because it would be hard to let career years of Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane go by, also knowing that the core guys are not getting any younger.

The problem with the team lately is the fact that they are capable of giving up some goals. This style of play usually doesn’t bode well come playoff time. The teams that get timely goals and defend well usually go on to win the Stanley Cup. If the Blackhawks find themselves playing against a division winner, they will definitely have to tighten up the screws or it will get ugly quickly.

Adding a very good forward is something that will help keep the puck in the opposite offensive zone and take the pressure off of the lackluster defense. A guy like Erik Gustafsson is very good offensively as you saw when he set up the Kane overtime goal in Detroit, but he is an absolute mess in his own zone. So adding another very good top-nine forward would do wonders for guys like him.

If the Blackhawks are going to be buyers, there is one particular team that has the potential to trade quite a few of their top players, a team that may not come to mind when it comes to a trade and then a team that is known to be a heated rival.
