Chicago Bears: Hometown free agents to consider
By Ryan Heckman
This offseason, the Chicago Bears will have to be somewhat selective in free agency. We look at some of the players who could come home.
Fans of the Chicago Bears finally had something big to cheer about. The 2018 season didn’t end the way we all expected it to, but we now know what we can look forward to in the coming seasons.
Being a Bears fan has been rough at times, but under new leadership in Matt Nagy and with all of the additions made in the past year, things are looking way up.
Speaking of those additions, general manager Ryan Pace is now entering another crucial offseason. Last year was crucial to Pace’s future with the Bears, but this offseason is crucial because of how close the team is to a championship.
Lots of smaller decisions will be made now that the core is in place. But, some of those small decisions could be the difference between a Super Bowl or another early playoff exit.

Folks from Chicago will tell you there’s something about cheering for a hometown kid. They had that a few years ago with a kid named Derrick Rose.
Now, we’re talking a completely different sport and no one near the hype given Rose, but there are a few names to look out for in free agency that come from Chicago and its surrounding area. Let’s examine some of them.
