Sunday, Dallas Stars

Who doesn’t love a little Sunday afternoon matinee? That is what the Blackhawks will participate in as they host the Dallas Stars. The Stars hold the first Wild Card spot in the West so yet another team that the Blackhawks are competing with for a playoff berth.

Dallas, like Colorado, has some very elite players on their team. The duo of Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin is as lethal as any combo of players in the world. They have been a dynamic duo ever since Seguin was traded to Dallas. It has led to a scoring title for Benn, but not much team success has come out of it just yet.

The Blackhawks are hoping to have banked some points by this point of the week, as this is the last game before the trade deadline. Depending on how the week plus this game goes, the philosophy could be directly affected by the results.

The Dallas Stars and the Chicago Blackhawks, separated by four points as we stand, always play very entertaining games against one another and seem to bring out the best in each other. Both of these teams have high hopes about the stretch of the season and envision themselves playing beyond the regular season. Both of these teams have game breakers on their rosters so you never know how high the ceiling could be.

So if the Blackhawks make it out of this stretch of games with a good chunk of points, there are a few guys that the Blackhawks could target if they plan on going all in on making it to the postseason. It will be interesting to see how they go about it regardless of the way this week rolls out. The Blackhawks and Dallas both have playoff aspirations so look for them both to use this game to decide how they manage the trade deadline.

That is pretty cool that two teams like that are meeting at such a pivotal point in the season’s schedule. They are going to need all hands on deck with no passengers because these teams are coming and will give them everything they got in an attempt to rain on their parade.
