3. Execute sign-and-trade for Le’Veon Bell

Speaking of finding a replacement for Howard, taking a shot at a guy like Le’Veon Bell is never a bad idea. I know, the Bears don’t have a ton of cash flow, so including a contract in the deal would be necessary.

Granted, Leonard Floyd‘s contract isn’t anything special, considering he’s still on his rookie deal. But, it’s a first-round rookie deal, and that helps a bit.

If the Bears were to execute a sign-and-trade for Bell, the Steelers would have one of two options. They could either slap the franchise tag on Bell once again, or sign him to a three-to-four year contract which the Bears would absorb.

Again, the likelihood of this happening is almost zero percent. If Chicago were to snag Bell, that would probably mean waving goodbye to Amos and Callahan, as well as mortgaging the rest of this year’s free agency period.

However, can you imagine, for a second, what it would look like to have Bell on this offense? He’s a back who does absolutely everything. The options would be endless, and his presence would make everyone around him better — like Mack did for the defense.
