Chicago Bears: 5 trades to flip offseason on its head
By Ryan Heckman
2. Trade Jordan Howard to highest bidder
This has been a hot topic of conversation amongst Bears fans for the last year, now. I don’t really need to say a whole lot about the argument. I will say that I love Jordan Howard and think he’s an immensely talented running back.

I also think the Bears could find a better fit within their existing offense. That’s not a knock on Howard, it’s just the mentality of playing to win the game.
The return on a Howard trade might not please most fans. For those thinking Chicago could get anything back within the first two rounds, you will be sorely disappointed. Now, I do think it would be possible for the Bears to get a third-round pick in return for Howard. That is not out of the question.
A few weeks ago, I wrote about where Howard might go if he was traded. I still think most of those teams would make a whole lot of sense, and giving up a third-round pick shouldn’t be an issue for most of them.
If the Bears can’t find a trade partner for Howard, the offense will be just fine. However, don’t be surprised to see Pace draft a running back to replace guys like Benny Cunningham and Taquan Mizzell — and ultimately take Howard’s place next year.
