Chicago Bears: 10 bold predictions for 2019 NFL free agency
By Ryan Heckman
10. Bears sign Anthony Harris
So, what happens if the Bears do allow Amos to walk? Who do they replace him with? Is Deon Bush a viable option? After all, he earned much praise from defensive coordinator Vic Fangio during the 2018 offseason and leading up to the regular season.
While Bush isn’t the worst possible option to replace Amos, I would rather see a guy like Anthony Harris take the starting spot. It is likely the Vikings would choose to keep Harris as their starter over Andrew Sendejo, but bringing Harris to Chicago would be a fantastic signing.
First of all, Harris would be far cheaper than Amos. That’s a given. But, he’s also a quality player. On a Vikings defense featured atop the league in many categories, Harris was one of their best players last season.
He wasn’t targeted nearly as often as the Vikings’ corners, but when he was, Harris was stout. On the season, Harris tallied three interceptions and only allowed seven receptions for 52 yards. He’s an excellent tackler and proved that he is worthy of a starting gig after stepping in for Sendejo last year.
Alright, it’s time for you to make your opinion heard on our wildly bold predictions for this year’s free agency period. Let us know which of these you think is absolutely crazy and which you could see happening.
