Chicago Bears: Potential Adrian Amos replacements

4. HaHa Clinton-Dix, Washington Redskins
This is a name that Bears fans are familiar with. Drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2014, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix appeared as if he was on his way to becoming one of the best young safeties in the NFL. His first two seasons in Green Bay, Clinton-Dix notched an impressive 205 tackles.
However, in his third and fourth seasons, he would notch a total of 158 tackles, experiencing a slight decline in production. While this was primarily due to a decline in the level of defense played by the Green Bay Packers, it appeared as if Clinton-Dix was on his way out.
All throughout 2018, there were multiple rumors swirling that Green Bay could move on from the former first-round pick. Eventually, he was traded to the Washington Wizards during the 2018 NFL Trade Deadline.
As the Redskins enter a year where the defense looks like it will be retooled, there’s a chance that Clinton-Dix isn’t back with the team. He hasn’t been mentioned as being interested in potentially signing a contract extension with the team.
Per Spotrac, Clinton-Dix made $3.1 million dollars in 2018. For a team that’s going to be somewhat tight on cap space, he makes sense for the Bears. He isn’t going to cash in this offseason and be in line for a major payday, however, he will still come at a reasonable price.
At this point, Clinton-Dix is a player who could turn out to be a very underrated free agent signing in multiple aspects. He’s a competitor who could sign a two or three-year deal with the Bears and be more than just a serviceable free agent signing.
