2. The New Jersey Devils, Tuesday

The next game is probably the one that could be perceived as the easiest of the three. The New Jersey Devils are struggling this season after having high hopes following an unexpected trip to the postseason last year.

Any game that you take lightly in the National Hockey League is a game that you will lose. As tough of a season it has been for the Devils, they are still capable of scoring goals in bunches and defeating anyone on any given night. In fact, a couple of games before the Blackhawks started their win streak was a game at the Prudential Center in Newark. A game in which New Jersey had its way with the Blackhawks, defeating them by a score of 8-5.

The Devils are a banged-up team as well as their usual leading scorer Taylor Hall and top defenseman Sami Vatanen are both out with an injury. Injuries are no excuse and you can expect the Devils to compete in this one.

The Blackhawks catch a bit of a break if they get to play against the Devils’ Taylor Hall in both of the matchups this season. Hall is the reigning MVP of the NHL as he captured the Hart Trophy for the 2017-18 season.

The Devils are led right now by 20-year-old center Nico Hischier and Hall’s All-Star replacement Kyle Palmieri. Those guys are very dangerous and you do not want to take chances when they are out there. Hischier went number one overall to the Devils when the NHL Draft was held in Chicago at the United Center in 2017.

The Devils are a team a hot Blackhawks team should beat, but they have lost three in a row to New Jersey so they need to be at their very best as the Devils make their first and only trip to the United Center on Thursday night.
