Chicago Bears: Potential free agent adds from AFC North

Baltimore Ravens
Running Back Ty Montgomery
One of the Ravens’ free agents the Bears know better than others is former Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery. The Ravens traded for Montgomery last year, but now have multiple decisions facing them at the running back position in free agency. Alex Collins, Javorius Allen, Gus Edwards and Montgomery are all free agents in some respect.
Back in 2016, Montgomery rushed 16 times for a career-high 162 yards against the Bears. I am sure the Bears remember this well. If Chicago upgrades their depth at running back, Montgomery’s versatility as a pass catcher would definitely fit right in.
Outside Linebacker Terrell Suggs
He may be 36 years old, but Terrell Suggs is continuing to play the game with a high motor. Last season, he finished with eight sacks. Although he is not the player he once was, if he’s looking to go out on top and try for a Super Bowl run before retiring, the Bears defense would welcome him.
As a rotational pass rusher behind Khalil Mack and Leonard Floyd, Suggs would bring a whole lot of energy, leadership and passion to the group and locker room as a whole.
Defensive End Brent Urban
Opposite of Akiem Hicks, the Bears don’t have that one guy who can be called a solidified starter. Last year, it was a mixture of a few guys at the position. 27-year-old Brent Urban could certainly come in and be thrown into the rotation as an upgrade, especially if the Bears are looking for another run-stopper. The 6-foot-7 Urban was one of the better linemen in terms of stopping the run in 2018, and I’ll never shy away from signing a guy like that if I’m Pace.
